Broad Chain Sword live plants are native to Central and South America, and is easy to care for. Generally a hardy species suitable for both beginners and expert aquarists. As the name suggests "chain sword", they will readily propagate runners in the aquarium.

Midground to background placement in the aquarium. Broad Chain Swords like plenty of space and light availability.
Growth Rate
Slow growth rate. Broad Chain Swords are heavy root feeders and will enjoy a nutrient rich aquarium substrate for large growth. To slow growth in smaller aquariums, plant in a sand only substrate. New plants can be separated and replanted elsewhere in the aquarium.

Moderate to high lighting requirements.
