Description

Corallimorph (Discosoma spp. – Assorted, Per Polyp) Corallimorphs, commonly known as Discosoma mushrooms, are a vibrant and hardy soft coral species perfect for Australian reef aquariums. Each polyp comes in an assortment of colours, ranging from bright reds, greens, purples, and oranges, adding bold splashes of colour and texture to your tank. These corals are ideal for beginner and intermediate aquarists due to their low-maintenance nature, fast growth, and adaptability. Individually sold per polyp, they can be arranged to create colourful carpets or scattered for a natural reef effect, making them a versatile addition to any marine aquarium. Images are examples only - colour, shape and size may vary. They do not sting other corals aggressively, making them safe for mixed reef tanks. Avoid placing them near highly aggressive LPS or SPS species to prevent interference. Lighting Needs These corals thrive under low to moderate LED or T5 reef lighting. Proper lighting promotes vibrant colours and healthy polyp extension. Gradually acclimate new polyps to stronger lighting to prevent stress or bleaching. Water Flow Requirements Discosoma mushrooms prefer low to moderate water flow. Gentle currents allow the polyps to open fully and maintain healthy growth, while strong flow may cause tissue damage or inhibit polyp extension. Tank Size & Placement Corallimorphs are suitable for small to medium marine aquariums. Place each polyp on stable rockwork or substrate with enough space to expand and spread. Regular maintenance and stable water parameters will help your Discosoma coral thrive and maintain its vibrant appearance. All our corals are sustainably collected or tank grown to ensure our reefs remain protected.
