Description
The Purple Harlequin Rasbora is a striking variant of the wild Harlequin Rasbora, but sports shades of purple across the body. The Purple Harlequin Rasbora is a peaceful shoaling species and enjoys a planted aquarium in groups of 8 or more. Suitable for smaller fish tanks, and less commonly seen then the regular Harlequin Rasbora.
They prefer lower light levels and densely planted aquariums with some open swimming space. Purple Harlequin Rasbora's tend to show colour best when conditions are ideal, with males being brighter. They are a timid species and will gain confidence with lots of hiding spaces and in groups.

The minimum tank size for a small group of Purple Harlequin Rasboras is 25L. The Purple Harlequin Rasboras will occupy the top to middle water column in the aquarium.
Due to their small size, smaller aquariums will accommodate this fish, however we always recommend going with larger aquariums if your budget allows.
