Tissue Culture – Echinodorus tenellus, also known as Pygmy Chain Sword, is a compact, grass-like aquarium plant perfect for creating a lush, natural foreground or carpet effect. This tissue culture version is grown in sterile conditions, ensuring it is free from pests, algae, and snails. With its narrow, bright green leaves, Echinodorus tenellus spreads through runners, forming a dense mat under the right conditions, making it an excellent choice for aquascaping. Water Conditions Temperature: 20 – 28°C pH: 6.2 – 7.5 Water Hardness: 50 – 200ppm Placement Ideal for foreground planting. Can be used to create a carpet in open spaces. Growth Rate Moderate to fast with good lighting and fertilisation. Will spread via runners when healthy. Lighting Moderate to high lighting required for compact, healthy growth. Low light may cause the plant to grow taller and less densely. In the Pisces Laboratory, Aquarium plants are cultivated using tissue-culture techniques in small pots of nutrient-rich sterile agar jelly. These little pots pack a lot of goodness in a small space and you will find multiple plants in each container.  Before planting in your aquarium, gently wash off the jelly and carefully split the plants into a few pieces if desired.
